FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., April 29, 2014 – Herald Square Entertainment, LLC today announced that David Sardi will make his feature motion picture directing debut with the military action-adventure “The Mullah’s Storm.”
Based on the novel by thriller writer Tom Young, “The Mullah’s Storm” features U.S. Air Force Major Michael Parson who, after surviving the crash of his transport plane and losing his entire crew, finds himself in the middle of an Afghan blizzard with only Sgt. Sophia Gold and her “high value” detainee, fighting for survival against a treacherous Taliban radical. The story, winner of the Gold Medal Award from the Military Writers Society of America, is a fast-paced, epic tale of endurance, commitment and the close bonds forged in combat by our men and, now, women warfighters. Those bonds get complicated when men and women fight side by side. Published by GP Putnam & Sons, the novel is the first of four detailing the exploits of Parson and Gold.

What happened to the movie? It was such a great book. I’m not a soldier nor have I even been in the military. But the book with its very vivid mountain storm scenes( I can see so clearly the heavy snow melting flake by flake on the gun barrel). Also I am a pilot and Mr Young’s flying scenes are spot on. It was the best read I’ve had in a long while. I also have an audiobook version. Great narration by Scott Bricks. I’m on my third listening. Good luck. This novel should be seeing more publicity.

Thanks for asking, Mark. I’m delighted that you enjoyed The Mullah’s Storm, and I certainly appreciate hearing from you. A film producer has optioned the screen rights to The Mullah’s Storm. Hard to say when the film might be ready, but the producer’s working hard. All the best….

I lost sleep reading this book and would be the first in line to see the movie. I sincerely hope it comes to fruition!

Still looking for the movie. Is it still in production? A few months ago I saw Christian Bale in “Hostiles” and instantly thought how great he would be in the role of Michael Parson.

Hi, Diana. Thanks for asking. Nothing firm about the film at the moment, though I can say the producer’s working hard. Stay tuned!
